The Maharashtra Cyber Cell is set to issue a show-cause notice to ticketing platform Zomato over alleged violations in ticket sales for the upcoming Yo Yo Honey Singh concerts. The investigation stems from claims that Zomato sold tickets without requiring buyer details, a move that could breach event ticketing regulations.
Concerts Under Scrutiny
Honey Singh is scheduled to perform at two major events in Maharashtra:
- February 22, 2025 – Mumbai
- March 14, 2025 – Pune
The issue has sparked concerns over black marketing and ticket hoarding, reminiscent of controversies seen during the recent Coldplay concert in India.

Cyber Cell’s Concerns & New Directives
Maharashtra Cyber Cell Chief Yashasvi Yadav has raised alarms over a growing ticket resale market, where tickets for high-demand events are bought in bulk and resold at inflated prices on unauthorized platforms.
To tackle this, the Cyber Cell has mandated new guidelines, including:
✅ Buyer’s Name on All Tickets – All future concert tickets must display the purchaser’s name.
✅ Government ID for Entry – Attendees must present an ID (Aadhaar, PAN, or Driver’s License) matching the ticket name.

Legal Reforms & Industry Response
The Cyber Cell is also preparing a white paper in collaboration with ticketing platforms like Zomato and BookMyShow. This document aims to establish a legal framework for ticket sales and introduce technological safeguards to prevent black marketing.
With Zomato now under regulatory scrutiny, the concert industry awaits their official response. Will these new rules reshape ticketing in India? Stay tuned for updates!
